Why Innovation ?

All business must innovate, one day or another all the initial advantage will be consumed by competitors, or market shift. Once upon a time it was the time of horses, now is of cars with thermal engine, electric vehicles are coming, and are already changing the panorama.

But how to create innovation ? is there any magic formula ? is it only a question of creativity or it is something that can be studied, formalized and even created "on demand" ?

When I started looking at the innovation process, I did from my scientific point of view, I am a data scientist, and I love statistics. I dont have the mindset to look into innovation from a social scientist point of view, the ones that trust economic theories, and social ties at the maximum level. I simply observe that innovation is often associated with a metric a quantity that can be measured with cold numbers. Sure, cold numbers, in such hot days of July 2022 are something that we cannot even conceive, but reality is that we need to think of business in terms of metrics, and these metrics must work here, and now. Not in a far future.
